2019 Sun Chase Pinot Noir
VINEYARD
Planted on the west-facing hillside where the cool Petaluma Gap collides with Sonoma Mountain, this site overlooks a broad sweep of the county from the San Pablo Bay to north Santa Rosa. Our Pinot Noir block is just above the fog line in rocky soil. The growing season tends to be long and the weather not always so pleasant for humans but wonderful for grapes.
SENSORY NOTES
The wine has a very delicate rose color which is deceiving about the aromas and flavors to come. Notes of stewed strawberry, pomegranate and cola nut jump out of the glass along with black pepper and sage. The palate is full of dark cherries, more strawberry compote and winter spices of nutmeg and cinnamon. How so much flavor can be packed into such a delicate wine is both perplexing and wonderous.
