Heintz Ranch has been owned and operated by the Heintz family since 1912. The 50-acre vineyard is located in Occidental, a cooler section of the Russian River Valley within the Sonoma Coast AVA. The site, located on an exposed ridge, experiences warmer temperatures in an otherwise cool region, which produces wines of richness and tension. The complementary trio of 115, Beringer, and Pommard clones were harvested and co-fermented to further the expression of terroir. Heintz Vineyard is world renowned for producing exceptional quality fruit grown by 3rd generation farmer Charlie Heintz, who feels it is his job to protect and nurture the land.
Bouquet of cherry, anise and redwood tips, complemented with earthy notes with time in the glass. Silken texture on entry, cranberry and dried floral commingle on the palate. Hints of bay and resin, and a soft layer of tannins underpin the core of red fruit. This coastal Pinot Noir offers a balance of striking aromatics, a diversity of varietal flavors and a mouth-filling finish.
