2013 Cuvee Barlow - 1.5L
About this wine
This limited bottling was created as a bold expression of Pinot Noir, a deeply perfumed wine to pair with your own celebrations. To follow up with the inaugural 2012 vintage of Cuvee Barlow, we began crafting this iteration in the vineyard, with a separate pick of the DuNah Vineyard in the Sebastopol Hills, where the Sonoma Coast and the Russian River Valley appellations overlap.
Harvesting for concentrated flavors, we selected the smallest, ripest clusters. Like our vineyard-designated Pinots, this was a native ferment in our two-ton modified milk tank. Aged in some of our favorite barrels from Sirugue and Billon, the wine displayed characteristics of both Burgundy and the Sonoma Coast.
Striking aromas of blackberry, violet and porcini mushroom lure you in. The palate is flush with fruity acidity and dark chocolate. Savory tannins fill out the late palate, leading to cocoa and clove notes in the finish. A rich and deeply perfumed wine to pair with your own celebrations.
